Shannon Wallace Tieken 

Clavicorona pyxidata is found in association with cove hardwood forests in the Smokies. Shannon will use C. pyxidata as a model system to determine if fungal populations  in different coves are unique or if populations in different coves are interbreeding.  As part of this study, she will also try to determine the size and range of a C. pyxidata individual.  Her studies will provide information pertinent to management of habitats in the Smokies.
