Registration to the FESIN North American Mycoflora Workshop is free and open, but you must register so that we known how many people to expect.  Please note that MSA registration is completely separate event.  We encourage you to stay for that meeting, but there is a cost associated with it that we can not waive or reimburse.  Please download the FESIN registration form, fill it in and send it by e-mail to Tom Bruns [pogon@berkeley.edu] and Karen Hughes [khughes@utk.edu].

Where:

Saturday, July 14, 2012 8:30 AM: The FESIN North American Mycoflora Workshop will be located about 2 miles from the Yale campus at the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, 123 Huntington St., New Haven, CT.  We would like to have all participants at this part of the meeting. This meeting will start at 9:00 AM, with sign in, coffee and breakfast, starting at 8:30 AM. We will provide a shuttle bus from in front of Swing Hall (100 Tower Parkway), which is across the street from Morse College Residence Halls, departing at 8:15. Lunch will be served on site, and dinner/reception will be at a different location and a bus will transport people there.

Sunday, July 15, 2012:On Sunday, small breakout groups will meet on the Yale campus to target specific questions and to help write the white paper which is a goal of this meeting.  If you are interested in this part of the program you are welcome, but be prepared to work both at this workshop and after the meeting ends to complete the paper.

Travel to New Haven

For details on travel to New Haven go to the MSA meeting website and follow the links.

Housing

If you are going to the MSA meeting and have already arranged housing, you can extend your stay to the 13th and 14th if you indicate that on your registration to FESIN North American Mycoflora Workshop. That information will be relayed to our Yale Conference Services coordinator, who will manually extend your lodging to arrive Friday, 13 July, and the credit card used for your MSA registration (for campus housing) will be charged for the extra night(s). This includes people booked at the Yale residence halls and the Omni Hotel.

If you are only attending the North American Mycoflora Workshop, then it is best to go to a hotel, such as the New Haven Hotel or the Premier Hotel and Suites near Long Wharf, or the Best Western Executive Hotel of New Haven, and arrange for a taxi, which we can reimburse you for.  If you are a government employee using an official govt. credit card, you can obtain a good government rate at the Omni Hotel. There are also cheaper dorm options, but be aware that the dorms available are not air conditioned.

Travel support for the meeting

We have funds provided by National Science Foundation through the FESIN grant to support travel to this meeting.  If you were already promised travel support, you should receive an email by the end of March outlining how it can be used.   If you have not been promised support you can apply for it when you register (see registration form).  The maximum we can provide would be transportation to and from the meeting, and lodging for the 13th, 14th, and 15th.  MSA registration will not be covered.
