Dr. Rebecca Prosser is participating in the UTK Women’s Leadership Program

Dr. Rebecca Prosser is participating in a Women’s Leadership Program organized through the Office of the Provost. This is the second year of this program, and there are a total of 9 faculty and staff in this year’s class. This one-year program combines reading material with guest speakers and group discussions designed to help participants understand what leadership is, build self-awareness, and strengthen their leadership capabilitiess.
The program began in May with a week-long schedule of meetings, presentations and discussions. Throughout the next academic year the participants will have regular monthly meetings plus occasional brown-bag luncheons. They will also be invited to attend other leadership meetings on campus, such as department head retreats and workshops, as part of their leadership training. The women in the Leadership Program will become familiar with the overall structure and function of higher education administration and will learn skills and tactics to help them survive and flourish in leadership positions. The goal of the Women’s Leadership Program is to increase the number of women in leadership positions on campus.
